Mr. Sly graduated with honors in 1996 from Albany Law School of Union University where he served as Associate Editor of the Albany Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree with honors from the State University of New York at Albany. Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. Sly co-founded and managed a political marketing and consulting firm and worked in the New York State Legislature. Since becoming a trial attorney, he has served on the Executive Board of the Maryland Defense Counsel and is actively involved with the Defense Research Institute. He is the author of a number of publications including Supervening Cause Is Alive and Well, Maryland Defense Counsel, The Defense Line, Fall 2006; The Restatement Sections Specifically Applicable to Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Cases in State Court: A 50-State Survey, American Bar Association, Section of Litigation, 2004; Don't Forget Causation - It Can Save You, Maryland Defense Counsel, The Defense Line, Winter 2004; A Proposal for a Contract Write-Off Rule, Defense Research Institute, For The Defense, January 2003.
